Sometimes travel requires a hotel or hostel that simply serves as a place to hold your luggage or a bed to sleep in at night. Nashville Downtown Hostel provides guests with a clean and orderly place to stay without excess frills or amenities that may ultimately go unused.

Set in an 1880s warehouse, the hostel is clean and a relatively new addition to the downtown area having opened in 2012. With enough space to accommodate 250 guests, rooms can be rented privately or be shared based on the number of beds -- four, six, or eight. Taking cues from its former use, the hostel features exposed brick and beams and an atrium with a skylight.

Room
Each room is outfitted with bunk beds to sleep four, six, or eight people. Though entire rooms can be booked for increased privacy, the hostel is divided into two groups of rooms: gendered and co-ed. Wood floors, ductwork, exposed brick, and wooden beams give each room an industrial-chic atmosphere. Leather couches for additional seating is the perfect place for top bunkies to mingle with friends or browse the internet on the hostel's complimentary wifi.
Tip With rates around $120 for a private room, the hostel is affordable without having to share a space with strangers.
Bathroom
Bathrooms are shared and divided by gender. Both showers and toilets are located in private stalls. If needed, guests can rent a towel for $1.
Lobby
With plenty of seating to co-mingle among new friends, the lobby includes televisions, foosball and pool tables, and sofa loungers. Up a few concrete steps and around wooden pillars, a community, industrial-grade kitchen with a pizza oven and tin walls is open for guest use.
An additional 24-hour, stone-walled common room with a music stage and piano is also available for travelers to create their own music session after taking in Music City.

Dining
Though the hostel does not have a restaurant or serve breakfast, tea and coffee are available to all each morning.
Drinking
Alcohol is not allowed in guest rooms, but anything under 15 percent alcohol can be consumed in the common area. Liquor is not allowed, but may be held for guests at reception.
Amenities
Guests can request to borrow hairdryers, an iron and ironing board, or a blender at the front desk. With a fee, there is an laundry facility and computer lab on location as well.

Getting Around
Free parking is not available, but paid public parking is nearby. The hostel also has a limited number of parking for $20 per day. Guests can easily walk or Uber from the downtown location to any destination they may wish to visit.
Restaurants
There are a lot of options near the hostel, namely large chains. For something other than Hard Rock Café or Hooters, slide into Manny's House of Pizza (7-minute walk) for a slice. El Rey (4-minute walk) serves Mexican food, and The George Jones (4-minute walk) is a gastropub with plenty of options. Wake up at with breakfast at Frothy Monkey (8-minute walk), a local chain.
Bars
Pinewood Social (6-minute drive) is a millennial must while in Nashville, but Beer Sellar (1-minute walk) is just across the street from the hostel. Acme Feed & Seed (4-minute walk) is another popular venue for cocktails.
