Fodor's Expert Review Sermet's Corner

Recently redone in white tableclothes and spotlighted on Bravo television show Southern Charm, Sermet's may have lost some of its local appeal, but chef-owner Sermet Aslan continues to deliver creative cooking with a Mediterranean menu is speckled with innovations. The poached pear and salmon salad is a favorite, as is the sautéed calamari with fennel and oranges. The dining room's plate-glass windows look out onto the King Street shopping district. The atmosphere is bohemian, and the bar is filled with colorful locals (if you wish, you can even join them and have your meal at the bar).
