Fodor's Expert Review Wedgwood Inn

111 W. Bridge St., New Hope, Pennsylvania, 18938, USA

Accommodations at this Victorian antiques–decorated B&B are in an 1870s-era "painted lady" a Federal-style manor house, and an 1890s carriage house; all have rooms that work equally well for families and romance. What unites them is a quiet parklike setting a few blocks from Main Street and the namesake china, found in every room. Many rooms also have two-person whirlpool tubs, gas fireplaces, and private porches. Having run the inn since 1982, the Glassman family knows how to cater to guests, accommodating dietary restrictions and breakfast location preferences (in the breakfast room, your room, or on the porch), and providing a wealth of information and help setting up activities.

PROS

  • lovely grounds near, but set apart from, the middle of town
  • welcomes children and dogs
  • many gas fireplaces and some porches

CONS

  • tasteful rooms but not for those who dislike Victoriana and Wedgwood blue
  • third-floor rooms require climbing
  • different-size rooms, so check carefully when booking
