Valley Forge

A major site of the Revolutionary War is near the suburban village of Valley Forge. The town was named for an iron forge built in the 1740s.

The monuments, markers, huts, and headquarters in Valley Forge National Historical Park illuminate a decisive period in U.S. history. The park, with its quiet beauty that seems to whisper of the past, preserves the area where George Washington's Continental Army endured the bitter winter of 1777–78.
