Fodor's Expert Review Fairville Inn

506 Kennett Pike, Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, 19317, USA

Halfway between Longwood Gardens and Winterthur, this comfortable B&B has bright, airy rooms furnished with Queen Anne and Hepplewhite reproductions in three buildings: the 1823–37 main house and the more recently built carriage and springhouse. The main house has a striking living room with a fireplace and another common area with tables, perfect for afternoon tea or just talking. Rooms in the carriage house and springhouse have decks; those in the latter have a sweeping view down to the pond. The Fairville's complimentary breakfast includes a choice of three entrées, such as an egg dish, homemade pancakes, or Belgian waffles, and an afternoon tea with home-baked cookies, fruit, and cheese.
