Getting Around

Downtown Portland is extremely easy to navigate on foot, and if you need to venture into other areas in the city, you have easy access to public transportation (the nearest MAX station is just a few blocks away). If you want to explore the city on two wheels (like a true Portlander!), just ask the front desk to borrow a bike. If you do decide to bring a car, parking is $43 per night.

Restaurants

For lunch, stop by DarSalam (5-minute walk), an Iraqi restaurant with a lively atmosphere and an incredible lunch buffet where you can sample traditional Iraqi dishes that pack an incredible flavor punch, like Beef Shank with Vegetables and Lentil, Beef, and Carrot Stew. Another great option is Chez Dodo (4-minute walk), a food cart serving Mauritian dishes, which bring together flavors and techniques from African, Indian, Chinese, Creole, and French cuisines. Be sure to try the Shyamosa, a potato-filled pastry topped with mint and cilantro chutney.

Bars

If you're in the mood for a beer, head over to Deschutes Brewery Public Portland House (8-minute walk), a popular Oregon brewery that creates seasonal brews in-house just for the Portland location. If you’re more in the mood for a cocktail, head to Multnomah Whiskey Library (6-minute walk), one of the hottest spots in downtown Portland known for its cozy parlor-like atmosphere and insane collection of high-end spirits (with a focus on whiskey, of course).
