Tar Heels. The University of North Carolina Tar Heels are Chapel Hill's Atlantic Coast Conference team. They play in the Dean E. Smith Student Activities Center, aka the "Dean Dome," where the banners celebrating their seven NCAA national championships hang from the rafters. Dean E.
