Seagrove

What golf is to Pinehurst, pottery is to Seagrove. This little town is home to upward of 100 potters, many whose families have been making ceramics for generations. For some, the notoriety extends far beyond the town limits, as Seagrove pottery can be seen as far away as the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. While exploring Seagrove, expect to see all kinds of work, from decorative to functional, from wall hangings to bowls, pitchers, and vases. "Face jugs" (sometimes called "ugly face jugs") are a local specialty and can be bought in many of the shops and galleries scattered off Route 705 and U.S. 220.
