Fodor's Expert Review Carbone

Greenwich Village
Italian
It seems like Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi can do no wrong, and Carbone is a case in point. The achingly popular place not only sticks to the Italian American formula that has won it (and their earlier restaurant, the now-closed Torrisi Italian Specialties) acclaim, but goes further: the white-tablecloth restaurant successfully emulates the Big Apple Italian restaurants of the 1950s, with revived dishes like veal marsala, rib-eye Diana, and baked clams.
