Why We Like It

The giant rooftop is spacious, unpretentious, and offers gorgeous skyline views. We love the airy restaurant, the smart use of space in both rooms and bathrooms, and the convenient galley kitchens on each floor with free coffee. While some affordable hotels are bare bones, this futuristic property offers value and fun amenities, too.

Fodor's Expert Review

Look beyond the gimmicks (a luggage-storing robot, a futuristic white design scheme) and you’ll find one of New York’s best-run, most functional lodgings. The self check-in lobby works like a dream, and while rooms are a bit tight on space, the expansive rooftop provides enviable common space. In exchange for the remote 10th Avenue location, guests get serious value.

Room

Though rooms may seem too small at first glance, they are surprisingly comfortable, with giant flat-screen TVs, loungers that morph into beds with the touch of a button, and plenty of nooks and crannies for storage. Larger cabins and suites have outdoor terraces and hot tubs.

Tip A galley kitchen on each floor has free coffee, tea, water, and ice. That's right, free ice and water.

Bathroom

Smartly designed bathrooms have glass walk-in showers, a heated towel rack, and small vanities.

Lobby

The sleek, futuristic lobby is bright white with moody purple lighting, self-check in, and a luggage-storing robot. It’s a large, open space--but it's not the type of lobby that invites lounging (there’s a rooftop and restaurant for that).

You Should Know At popular check-in and check-out times, the lobby can be very busy and a bit chaotic.

Dining

The Green Fig is a bright, airy restaurant serving Mediterranean fare for breakfast, brunch and dinner.

Drinking

An enormous rooftop space, The Terrace and Club Lounge, is one of the hotel’s best features. By day it is perfect for reading and drinking coffee, and on summer nights it becomes a buzzy club with guest-celeb DJs.
