The downtown sibling of the midtown luxury staple, this new Four Seasons opened its doors in September 2016. Expect all the decadent luxury that the brand is known for, but with a lower Manhattan accent—in other words, it's way edgier. It's got a dimly lit bar, fun lounge music, and bold art installations. Plus, the amenities are top notch, with a 2000 square foot fitness center, a peaceful spa with eucalyptus steam rooms, and an indoor lap pool. For the Financial District location, the property is surprisingly quiet and keeps the city noise at bay.

Room

Starting at 490 square feet, the elegant rooms are giant by local standards, at more than twice the size of rooms in many New York City hotels. They have a gray and white color palette and large windows, which let in a ton of light. A small couch and desk provide space to work and lounge while the bedside iPad offers seamless connection to room service and the concierge. There's also a bunch of nice extras including a Nespresso machine, electric kettle, and upgraded bar with cut crystal glasses.

Bathroom

All bathrooms offer oversized soaking tubs that fill in two minutes flat. Generous in size, bathrooms have gray and white marble, TVs set in large mirrors, and Lorenzo Villoresi bath products. Pretty mother of pearl inlay adds extra visual interest to the glass-enclosed walk-in showers.

Lobby

The sleek and modern lobby has dark wood paneled walls, marble floors, and gold accents. It is an immaculate space with high ceilings, fresh flowers, and clusters of comfy seating flanked by contemporary art. A high-top table with stools and power outlets provides a place to plug in.

Pool

The 75-foot indoor lap pool is one of the city’s largest. The bright space has floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light plus white lounge chairs and cool tidal wave marble. The pool is heated to a temperature of 82 degrees while the floor surrounding it is a cozy 85 degrees--it's super comfortable. A lifeguard is always on duty.

Dining

CUT by Wolfgang Puck is a steakhouse located on the ground floor that serves hand cut steak tartare, red snapper sashimi, whole roasted dover sole, and an impressive range of steaks including Japanese wagyu beef. Decorated with dark walls and crimson velour chairs, it has a sultry feel that differs from other New York City steakhouses.

You Should Know CUT serves three meals a day and is the property’s only restaurant. Guests looking for grab-and-go options will find a wide variety in the neighborhood, but not on-site.

Drinking

Located off the lobby, CUT has a bar with a library feel and high-backed velour stools. It is a polished place for a cocktail or glass of wine.

Located on Barclay Street and Church Street, this luxury hotel is positioned at the northern edge of the Financial District and the southern edge of Tribeca. Downtown landmarks, restaurants, and shopping are all within easy walking distance. Transportation is excellent, with A, C, and E train service at Fulton Street plus 2 and 3 train service at Park Place. The nearby Fulton Street station offers more train options, including the 4, 5, R, W, J, and Z trains. The PATH station with access to Jersey City and Hoboken is a short walk away. Taxis and Uber are plentiful in this neighborhood, but traffic congestion is a common problem.

Restaurants

The latest brasserie from restaurateur superstar Keith McNally, Augustine (4-minute walk) has elevated the neighborhood’s dining scene with its refined French fare. Eataly NYC Downtown (7-minute walk) is an emporium of Italian food with several dining options, including grab-and-go sandwiches or full-service, sit-down experiences. Stroll north to Tribeca for a candlelit meal at Marc Forgione (8-minute walk).

Bars

For cocktails and cozy banquettes, take a walk up West Broadway to The Bennett (9-minute walk). When sunshine and skyline views are in order, hop in the elevator to the Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar (10-minute walk).
