Why We Like It

Among the city's spa resorts, La Posada offers truly sumptuous and serene facilities and memorable treatments, and the surrounding grounds, complete with a gorgeously landscaped pool and a few different notable dining and drinking venues, make it tempting to never leave. Rooms smartly furnished, and relatively new management here has really stepped up their game in recent years, bringing a level of service to the resort that it had previously lacked.

Fodor's Expert Review

Built around a historic Victorian mansion, La Posada is part of Starwood's upscale Tribute Portfolio brand and is one of the more expansive full-service resorts in Santa Fe, offering a slew of activities and a top-notch spa. Rooms on the beautiful, quiet grounds of this hotel vary, but extensive renovations have enhanced all of them to a level of luxury befitting the somewhat steep rates. The property boasts excellent bar and common areas, including well-regarded bars and restaurants.

Guests are offered numerous complimentary events throughout the week, from wine-and-cheese pairings to chef's receptions." And it should be run-in as part of the previous paragraph

You Should Know At $30 per night, La Posada has one of the highest resort fees in town. It covers valet or self parking, Internet access, fitness and yoga classes and access to the spa and spa tub, and a number of additional services, but you may want to consider staying elsewhere if you're not planning to use most of these features.

Accommodations are set among a few different buildings, some of them dating back to the 18th century—they're connected by prettily landscaped paths. They vary quite a bit in size but are all beautifully appointed, in the style of historic casitas, and most have latilla-and-viga-beam ceilings, leather couches, Navajo-pattern rugs, and fireplaces. In each unit you'll find a flat-screen TVs and mp3 player.
