Why We Like It

This upscale 15-unit compound offers all the amenities and charm of living in your very own little Santa Fe home, plus close proximity to the Plaza, Canyon Road, and all of the galleries, museums, restaurants, and shops in the city's historic core. The two-bedroom units are a great option for families or friends traveling together.

Fodor's Expert Review

This cloistered yet centrally located community of 15 handsomely appointed one- and two-bedroom casitas is popular for visitors planning extended stays, or simply wanting the experience of staying in a self-contained vacation rental rather than a conventional hotel. These compact adobe homes are decorated in classic Santa Fe style and feature well-equipped kitchens. What you gain in ample living space you give up in common spaces and facilities, but if you're seeking an independence and comfort, this is a terrific option.

You Should Know Although Campanilla Compound is within a relatively short (half-mile) walk to the Plaza, it is on a slight hill, something that you might want to keep in mind if you have any mobility issues.

Room

The casitas at Campanilla Compound all have one or two rooms, each with traditional Santa Fe–style furniture and amenities, including wood-burning kiva fireplaces, wood-beam ceilings, tile floors, and plaster walls. Hand-painted desks and headboards and Southwestern blankets and textiles brighten many of the units, some of which are two stories. All have private outdoor areas equipped with Weber gas grills, and the full kitchens are completely stocked with cookware, plates, and utensils. You'll also find a washer and dryer in each unit.

You Should Know As these are vacation homes, there's no daily housecleaning at Campanilla Compound. If you need your room cleaned during your stay, you can arrange it with a week's notice, with rates starting at $50 per visit.
