Why We Like It

This gorgeously situated full-service resort abounds with activities—including first-class golf, spa, horseback options—and is also a perfect base for travelers wanting to explore both Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Few hotels in New Mexico offer better cultural and recreational activities for families, yet romance-seeking adults appreciate the sophisticated on-site restaurants and bars.

Fodor's Expert Review

This spectacular large-scale resort, on more than 500 acres on the Santa Ana Pueblo—just outside Bernalillo and a little less than an hour's drive from Santa Fe—includes the superb Twin Warriors Golf Course, the 12,000-square-foot Tamaya Mist Spa & Salon, and a cultural museum and learning center. Cultural events include bread-baking demonstrations (in traditional adobe ovens), storytelling, and live tribal dance and music performances. Other draws include three outdoor pools, atmospheric bars, guided nature walks, and the Santa Ana Star Casino, just a short shuttle ride away. And if you're looking for an exceptional horseback ride, arrange one with the resort's Tamaya stables.

You Should Know Many visitors to the Santa Fe area choose this upscale resort because of its extensive recreational and dining amenities and beautiful setting, but it's actually closer to Albuquerque.
