Newbury

Newbury lies at the southern edge of 6-square-mile Lake Sunapee, one of the highest—and one of the cleanest—in the state, and a fine destination for boating, swimming, and fishing. Mt. Sunapee State Park has a picturesque beach on the lake as well as a mountain section that rises to an elevation of nearly 3,000 feet and offers some of the best skiing in southern New Hampshire. The popular League of New Hampshire Craftsmen's Fair, the oldest crafts fair in the nation, is held here in early August.
