Fodor's Expert Review Pleasant Bay Bed & Breakfast
386 West Side Rd., Maine, USA Fodor's Choice
A graciously welcoming, Cape Cod–style inn with three spacious guest rooms and a lovely suite, this appropriately named inn takes advantage of its location on a hilly farm aside a tidal river that widens into a bay offering visitors hiking paths and a tranquil place at the water's edge—and a chance to interact with llamas, goats, and other farm animals. A large deck overlooks the river, perfect for a morning coffee, and there’s a comfortable living room for guests that’s well-stocked with books. A full breakfast is served in the innkeeper’s large dining room. The suite has a private deck, sitting area with a pullout couch, and kitchenette. Rooms have water views and are decorated with antiques. Along with most rooms easily accommodating an extra person or two, a foldaway or crib is also available. A second-level barn apartment is available for weekly or longer stays.

- two rooms share a bath
