Stonington

Stonington is at the southern end of Route 15, which has helped it to retain its small-town flavor. The boutiques and galleries lining Main Street cater mostly to out-of-towners, but the village remains a fishing and lobstering community at heart. The principal activity is at the waterfront, where you can watch boats arrive with the day's catch. The sloped island that rises to the south is Isle au Haut, which contains a remote section of Acadia National Park.
