Cabs are metered at $3.50 base fare (up to two passengers, plus $1 for each additional passenger), then $2 per mile and 25¢ for every 40 seconds stuck waiting in traffic. If you're trying to hail a cab in New Orleans, try Decatur Street, Canal Street, or major hotels in the Quarter or the CBD. Otherwise, call a cab.

During Mardi Gras it can be extremely difficult to get a cab or ride-share; plan an alternate way to get home, such as using a Blue Bike (or enjoy the party until public transportation starts up again in the morning).
