Soon you’ll be able to tour the city of Chicago via a floating bicycle route. Second Shore has designed River Ride, a year-round bicycle pathway along the Chicago River that will be made up of floating pontoons. The pathway will have a number of features that’ll ensure the River Ride is a bicyclist’s paradise. Not only will it be car-free, but it will be outfitted with solar panels to keep the path ice-free, power lighting, precipitation-activated awnings, and heat conduits.
