Fodor's Expert Review St. Regis Princeville Resort

5520 Ka Haku Rd., Princeville, Hawaii, 96722, USA Fodor's Choice

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

Built into the cliffs above Hanalei Bay, this swanky Starwood resort offers expansive views of the sea and mountains, including Makana, the landmark peak immortalized as mysterious Bali Hai island in the film South Pacific. The spacious guest rooms are comfortable, with high-quality bed linens, twice-daily housekeeping, and original artwork—just as you'd expect for the island's most expensive property. Bathrooms are all elegant marble with a privacy window—flip a switch and it goes from clear to opaque so you can see the sights outside without becoming an attraction yourself. The restaurants serve excellent food and the pool is lavish with extremely comfortable lounge furniture. The St. Regis Bar hosts nightly entertainment and the huge windows showcase gorgeous sunsets and a breathtaking view of Hanalei Bay. The in-house spa presents a Zen-like atmosphere with traditional Hawaiian healing and Western techniques. There's shuttle service to the resort's two top-ranked golf courses and tennis center.
