The Breakers Golf Courses. The Breakers' historic par-70 Ocean Course, the oldest 18 holes in all of Florida, as well as its contemporary Breakers Rees Jones Course, are open exclusively to members and hotel guests. The Ocean Course, redesigned to bring back its "vintage" feel, is located on-site, on the grounds of the sprawling Breakers Palm Beach. The resort's sister course, designed by Rees Jones, is 10 miles west in West Palm Beach and replaces the former Breakers West course. A $210 greens fee for each includes range balls, cart, and bag storage; the John Webster Golf Academy at The Breakers offers private and group lessons. Discounts are given at the Ocean Course for afternoon starts, and for adults accompanied by kids, who play for free. The Breakers Palm Beach, 1 S. County Rd., Palm Beach, Florida, 33480. 561/655–6611; www.thebreakers.com/activities/golf/courses. $210 for 18 holes, cart included.

A lavish clubhouse houses Al Fresco, an Italian restaurant. A cart is an extra $15, but walking is encouraged. Summer rates are greatly discounted. 2345 S.
