This stylish and relatively new hotel just three blocks from Union Square honors the pineapple, of all things. As a symbol of hospitality, the pineapple adorns everything from the bathrobes and pillows to the silverware and cocktail glasses. Sparkling light fixtures, plush lounge seating, and European style bedding are just some of the features that hint at The Alise's glamour.

Room
Small rooms feature dark wood floors and white plush bedding accented by golds, yellows, and soft white lights. Pineapple themed comforts, including Boca Terry bathrobes, slippers (which can be taken home), coffee mugs, and one big pineapple pillow, let guests relax in style. The mattresses are heavenly, while individual duvets allow partners to enjoy a full night sleep without tugging on the blankets. All rooms have large windows, and some rooms have city views.
Tip Corner room 711 has the best city view.
Bathroom
Sleek and modern bathrooms are furnished with marble tiles, large mirrors, and glass walk-in showers featuring Tommy Bahama hair and body care products.
Lobby
Shining gold and silver decor coupled with afternoon pineapple cupcakes and “big-ass dessert” samples make this lobby feel like a royal retreat.
You Should Know A red grand player piano, hidden on the mezzanine, is open for guests to play.
Dining
The Pineapple Bistro & Bar, located in the lobby, serves breakfast, coffee, and snacks at a reasonable price. A dinner menu is in-progress. Most food and drinks are made from scratch in-house. For a light bite, the housemade granola is delectable.
Drinking
The Pineapple Bistro & Bar has a full bar with specialty cocktails. Try the Pineapple Express signature cocktail served in a copper pineapple mug for the classic Alise experience.

Getting Around
Getting around by foot is easy, though The Alise offers yellow beach cruisers for the adventurous. Union Square is only three blocks away (a ten-minute walk). Shopping, restaurants, bars, and art galleries are also within walking distance. There are several options for exploring outside of Union Square, including the cable car, trolley, BART trains and Muni bus, all within a short walk.

Fino Ristorante & Bar (3-minute walk) serves Italian cuisine in large portions. Don’t miss the mouth-watering linguine puttanesca. For high-end seafood, try the dining room at Farallon (5-minute walk) and marvel at the jellyfish chandeliers.
