Fodor's Expert Review

A relaxing refuge near Union Square, Orchard Hotel mixes sunny colors with Silicon Valley chic to a devote cadre of business travelers. Unlike most of the area's other boutique hotels, which occupy century-old buildings, the strictly-21st-century Orchard was built in 2000. Like its "green sister," the Orchard Garden, this hotel has also received LEED certification, giving SF visitors yet another eco-friendly option.

Tip Valet parking is almost $60 a night. Hunt online for a nearby garage, many of which will run you half that.
