Fodor's Expert Review Omni San Francisco Hotel
500 California St., San Francisco, California, 94104, USA
In a 1926 Florentine Renaissance–style structure that once housed banks and other financial enterprises, the Omni draws travelers seeking historical flavor and a downtown location. The lobby's glittering crystal chandeliers, dark mahogany paneling, and iron-and-marble staircase recall a bygone era of gentility, and the ample, immaculate guest rooms, with their high ceilings, crown molding, San Francisco–theme imagery, and carved-mahogany furniture, reinforce the period feel while being contemporary. On-site are Bob’s Bar and the expensive Bob’s Steak and Chop House.
PROS

CONS
- fee for in-room Wi-Fi if not an Omni member

- not much to do in immediate area at night and on weekends
