Why We Like It

Crafty interiors and a thoughtful staff make Hotel G a wise Union Square choice for those looking for some fun from their hotel.

Fodor's Expert Review

Managing to be both homey and innovative, this Union Square gem celebrates the building's century-old bones with a fresh design scheme that celebrates the Golden State. A fantastic on-site eatery, plenty of art, and a hip staff enliven public spaces.

You Should Know The old bones of the hotel mean that street noise might affect light sleepers. Bring ear plugs.

An ensemble of hand-loomed Indian rugs, denim headboards, black-and-white wallpapered closets, floating light fixtures, and throw pillows shaped like the Golden State provide a photo-worthy in-room experience. Large windows and high ceilings give smallish standard rooms an airy feel. Technological amenities abound--smart TVs, radios that have Internet connections and international stations, Nespresso machines, and free Wi-Fi.

Efficient bathrooms feature white tiles and showers over tubs.
