San Diego's 10 Best Hotels on the Bay

AnnaMaria Stephens | April 18, 2018

San Diego may be famous for its 70 miles of scenic coastline, but don't forget about its two beautiful bays. San Diego Bay is an 18-mile natural harbor and deepwater port that begins down by Imperial Beach, less than 10 miles from the Mexican border. It curves up around Coronado Island, past Downtown San Diego, and down along the Point Loma peninsula, where it lets out into the sea. You'll find a range of hotel options along the bay, from towering high-rises to waterfront resorts. To the north, just south of Pacific Beach, Mission Bay is home to the 4,600-acre Mission Bay Park, the largest man-made aquatic park in the country. You'll find water sports of every kind here, including wakeboarding, sailing, jet skiing, and stand-up paddleboarding, plus miles of walking and biking trails and long stretches of sandy beach. SeaWorld is also located on Mission Bay. We've picked some of the best options on both bays. Some are even close to the ocean, too.
