Fodor's Expert Review Miners Foundry

Nevada City Historical

The foundry, erected in 1856, produced machines for gold mining and logging. The Pelton Water Wheel, a power source for the mines credited with jump-starting the hydroelectric power industry, was invented here. The building is now used to stage art, dance, music, and film events, and there's a combination bar and café.
