Give the Healdsburg hubbub and prices the heave-ho but still have easy access to outstanding Dry Creek and Alexander Valley wineries from this modest, motel-like inn with a boutique-hotel sensibility. The best rooms, in the back on the second floor, have decks with vineyard views. All the rooms are done in subtle grays; many have fireplaces, and some have balconies. Should you suddenly crave a little Healdsburg action, the town's plaza is less than 10 miles away.
