Train

Downtown's Union Station is one of the great American railroad terminals. The interior includes comfortable seating, restaurants, and several bars. As the city's rail hub, it's the place to catch an Amtrak, Metrolink commuter train, or the Red, Gold, or Purple lines. Among Amtrak's Southern California routes are 11 daily trips to San Diego and 6 to Santa Barbara. Amtrak's luxury Coast Starlight travels along the spectacular coastline from Seattle to Los Angeles in just a day and a half (though it's often a little late). The Sunset Limited arrives from New Orleans, and the Southwest Chief comes from Chicago.
