Central Tucson

Tucson expanded north and east from the university during the 1950s and ’60s, and currently continues to spread southeast. The east–west thoroughfares of Broadway, Speedway, and Grant are lined with small and large businesses and eateries, mostly in unattractive strip malls. Sights worth seeing in this area include the Reid Park Zoo, the Tucson Botanical Gardens, and a couple of eccentric museums.
