First Mesa

The easternmost of the three main Hopi Mesas, First Mesa comprises several centuries-old communities acclaimed for polychrome pottery and kachina-doll carving. Hano, Sichomovi, and Walpi—with its dramatic setting beneath sheer cliffs—are the key communities at First Mesa.
