Getting Oriented

Île d'Orléans and the Côte-de-Beaupré are about 25 km (15 miles) east of Québec City.

The Charlevoix region is about 110 km (70 miles) northeast of Québec City, so consider spending the night.

  • Côte-de-Beaupré. Driving along this coast offers views of Île d'Orléans, as well as Montmorency Falls and the famous pilgrimage site, Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré.
  • Île d'Orléans. This island is called the "Garden of Québec" for all the produce, flowers, and prepared goods that stock restaurants and homes throughout the province. Spend the day here farm-hopping and sampling everything from ice wine to foie gras as you go.
  • Charlevoix. People refer to Charlevoix as the "Switzerland of Québec" due to its terrain of mountains, valleys, streams, and waterfalls. Charlevoix's charming villages line the shore of the St. Lawrence River for about 200 km (125 miles).
