Fodor's Expert Review Baldwin Barmacie
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Co-owner Alexandre Baldwin named the bar not only after the tiny pharmacy that once occupied this building but also after his grandmother, who worked there; her portrait hangs on the creamy white wall, and the downstairs area retains some features from those days. Drinks are served in old-fashioned syrup bottles and milk jugs, and chairs made from scotch barrels add rustic charm. You can sip on a refreshing bourbon punch (there's a great selection of whiskey here) as you peruse the menu, which includes some upscale comfort foods—the grilled cheese is delectable. Open Sunday–Monday 8–3, Tuesday–Saturday 5–3.
