Fodor's Expert Review Icehouse
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Buckets of fried chicken or pork ribs basted in Dr Pepper sauce are dumped on your brown paper-lined table for a meal to be eaten with your hands—it's all part of the fun at Icehouse. The popcorn shrimp, the corn bread, and the oyster po'boys are all recommended at this Lousiana-Tex-Mex inspired restaurant which is small in size but large in attitude and taste. In the summer, the coveted patio fills up quickly and the line-ups can be long so get there early (around 4 pm) or late to get a table. The Icehouse homemade lemonade with bourbon has become the stuff of legend and is a definite must-try, especially in the summer.
