Fodor's Expert Review Claude Postel
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Hordes of hungry clerks and lawyers line up at lunchtime to order fast, ready-made meals. Conversation is hushed and urgent over the vegetarian and chicken paninis, plates of smoked salmon, and braised veal. In the morning, the chocolate almond croissants fly out the door, along with muffins and warm buns. The bistro-like dining room is comfortable and welcoming if you want to eat in, but you can take your sandwich—on excellent crusty bread—and eat it alfresco at the Vieux-Port, a couple of blocks south. Mid-afternoon hunger pangs? Take a piece of deep, rich chocolate cake back to the hotel. Doors close weeknights at 7 pm, weekends at 5 pm.
