Fodor's Expert Review Brasserie Central

It takes a lot of nerve to open a French bistro in Montréal’s most voraciously English-speaking neighborhood, but Brasserie Central spruces up snobbish Westmount with a refreshing menu that was quick to convert even the most skeptical diners. Decidedly French but very Parisian, this black-and-white, light-filled brasserie serves classic continental fare with a twist. Budget-strapped visitors should consider the $20 two-course lunchtime table d'hôte.
