Loews Hôtel Vogue
1425 rue de la Montagne, Montréal, Québec H3G 1Z3, CanadaWhy We Like It
Serious shoppers like the location—just a five-minute walk from Holt Renfrew, La Maison Simons, Ogilvy, and other destinations boutiques. Of course, they’re also impressed by the luxury of this downtown boutique hotel. The 24-hour fitness center is inspiring, as is the children’s program. We like the airy lobby and friendly staff at reception, who could moonlight as mind readers.
Fodor's Expert Review
A celebrity haunt that spent $10 million in 2014 making the facade, lobby, and guest rooms super sexy. The glamor factor has drawn the likes of George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Michael Douglas.
Tip You’d never guess it from the design, but this hotel is super kid friendly. Parents can request car seats, cribs, child-proofing kits, strollers, Fisher-Price toys, games, DVDs, and even night-lights. Upon arrival, children under 10 get an activity book, too. Adults do not get an activity book, and have to come up with activities on their own.

Room
The rooms have vintage Vogue posters on the walls. The word "Vogue" is in its name, so this isn't too shocking. Other fun accents include rounded mid-century couches, deco lights, and iPod docking stations.
You Should Know Regular Wi-Fi at 1 MB/second for three devices is free, but you have to pay $14.95 per day to get 5 MB/second WiFi for a maximum of eight devices. You have been warned.
Bathroom
The Loews Vogue knows how to do a powder room. The huge bathrooms have whirlpool baths, flat-screen TVs, and phones. Now that's what we call a bathroom.
Lobby
The lobby is one of the most flirt-friendly in town, with its four-sided leather banquette in the middle. The space is classy and it is plush. Also, there are private little tub chairs with suspended trays to accommodate laptops.
Dining
Off to the right of the main floor lobby, La Société Bistro is a traditional French brasserie with an immense hardwood bar and a spectacular stained-glass dome ceiling. Order the hanger steak with skinny rosemary fries, or enjoy the oyster bar on Tuesday and Friday nights. There’s a five-course tasting menu for $62 that locals love.
What's Nearby
Getting Around
Centrally located in the Golden Square Mile of downtown Montreal, it’s a short walk to things worth seeing or a short cab ride outside the downtown core. Like most hotels, valet is expensive ($35 plus tax[!] overnight), so consider using cabs and public transit. Two metros stops are nearby.
Restaurants
To experience an elegant Italian courtyard in the middle of downtown, visit Restaurant Il Cortile (10-minute walk) and order the veal meatballs or linguini. For an exquisite morning latte, there’s Café Vasco Da Gama (10-minute walk), which also had breakfast wraps and light lunch.
