ALT Hotel Quartier Dix30

Why We Like It

Exceptionally stylish and economical, this hotel is an oasis for travelers visiting family in Brossard. The super fast, free Wi-Fi is a bonus, as is the free indoor parking and new gym. We appreciate the transparent pricing, via flat rates. There are two kinds of rooms--one Queen bed with a shower, or two Queen beds and a shower/tub--with two set rates: $169 or $189. It's that simple. There is a reasonable $30 fee per stay for pets.

Fodor's Expert Review

If you have a car and don't mind driving to and from the city, you will enjoy this stylish, tech-savvy hotel, where young game developers, hipsters, bloggers, and budget-conscious artists flock. Why? They're either visiting relatives in Brossard or trying to decompress outta town.

Tip There’s no official check-out time, so go ahead and sleep in, my friend. Just let them know approximately when you’ll be leaving, so they can arrange housekeeping accordingly.

Room

Compact and minimal chic, the 250-square-feet single rooms manage to pack in a lot: a comfy queen-size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets and a goose down comforter, feather center duvet pillows, huge flat-screen televisions, clock radios, a Keurig coffee machine, a multi-plug connectivity panel, a work station with ergonomic chair, and free Wi-Fi. So many things!

You Should Know There are no king-sized beds. Anyone who needs to spread out will feel confined. For another $20, you can get the double room with two queen beds, though.

Bathroom

The single rooms have glass showers (no tubs) but the double rooms have showers and tubs. If you like full-force water pressure, you’ll be happy. The Alt has spa-style showers with a showerhead generating a dense and abundant flow of water. Body products are by the local company Bella Pella, in environmentally friendly dispensers.

Lobby

Open concept and breezy, the lobby is like your coolest friend’s loft, with contemporary art and furniture that didn’t come from Ikea. There’s a bar and a small market called Altceteria for creative popcorn, drinks, chips, chocolate, and other munchies.

Dining

There’s no in-house restaurant, but who cares? The ALT is close to the trendiest strip of eateries in Brossard—in the Quartier Dix 30 shopping complex, to be exact. For coffee, there’s an espresso machine in the lobby. Emergency munchies are for sale in the lobby, also.
