Montréal on a Budget

There are several good ways to save money during your trip. If you'll be visiting three or more of the city's museums, consider buying a museum pass. It's available for C$75 for three days, but the better deal is the C$80 pass, which also includes unlimited access to Montréal's transportation system, including the métro and buses. www.museesmontreal.org/en/passes/the-passes.

Tourist passes, which give you unlimited access to the transit system, also may be worth your while; one-day passes are C$10 while three-day passes will set you back C$18. Weekly passes cost C$25.75 but they're loaded electronically on a special Opus card that costs C$6.

Hitting the town earlier in the evening is a good way to save as well, by stopping into cafés and bars for food and drink specials offered during cinq-à-sept (5-to-7), Montréal's happy hour.
