Ferry Travel

Weather permitting, Northumberland Ferries sails between Wood Islands, PEI, and Caribou, Nova Scotia, from May to late December. The crossing takes about 75 minutes, and there are three to nine per day depending on the season. Round-trip rates vary with the length of vehicle; those up to 20 feet long cost C$70 and those up to 50 feet long cost C$113. Foot passengers are charged C$18, cyclists C$20, and motorcyclists C$40. Fuel surcharges (around C$5 for passenger vehicles) must also be added in.
