Brudenell River Golf Course. One of the best in the country and arguably the most popular on the Island, the Brudenell course hosts professional matches and numerous Canadian Tour events. Broad fairways and manicured greens are dotted with lakes, ponds, and gardens, adding to the pleasure of playing a round here. Blind shots and doglegs present a good challenge. Four sets of tees vary the distances. Brudenell River Provincial Park, 82 Dewars La., Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, C0A lG0. 800/235–8909; peisfinestgolf.com/brudenell/. C$40–C$80. Closed Oct.–late June (may vary).

Dundarave Golf Course. With its striking red-sandstone bunkers, set out in equally striking patterns, the Dundarave Golf Course is Brundenell River's beautiful younger sister. Its wide fairways are lined by pine trees and the Brudenell River winds through, making for a stunning landscape. Watch out for the thick rough, though, and be prepared for some challenging moments.
