Fodor's Expert Review Rodd Brudenell River
86 Dewars La., Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, C0A 1G0, Canada
If you've come to eastern PEI to golf, this resort is the place to stay because the provincial park that shares its name is home to two 18-hole championship courses. Golf packages are frequently available and, after a day on the links, you can play a little tennis, go for a swim, or unwind at the on-site Aveda spa; then bed down in either a cottage or conventional hotel room. Nongolfers will enjoy the pools, kayak and bike rentals, tennis courts, and horseback riding, and there's a children's playground, too.
PROS
- many rooms and all cottages have private decks
- cottages have fireplaces and full kitchens
- kids stay free, eat free May–October
CONS
- tired decor
- fine dining available July–September only
- not all rooms have a river view
