Fodor's Expert Review La Petite France B&B
441 Church St., Alberton, Prince Edward Island, C0B 1B0, Canada
Built in the 1890s, this heritage home with its plentiful gables and pretty bay windows has a classic Island look with a lovely French theme inside. The owners (natives of France) have decorated and named each character-filled guest room as a homage to a different part of their former homeland. The French influence is also evident in the complimentary breakfast, which may include homemade pain au chocolat (chocolate-filled croissants) as well as eggs, juices, and quality cheeses. If that leaves you hungry for more, their on-site café—Chez Cartier—serves quiche, croque-monsieur (ham-and-cheese grilled sandwich), tarte tatin, and the like for lunch and dinner.
