Why We Like It
Brimming with youthful energy, the Bond Hotel is a few notches up from a hostel but without the hefty rate of most hotels. We love the downtown location, on the edge of Ryerson University, inside the theatre district. The renovated rooms are fresh and fun, with hip wall decals and warn wooden panels. It's a "dry" hotel, with no liquor license, so plan ahead. Thankfully, there are mini fridges in the guest rooms and shops nearby.

Great value, idea location--the Bond Hotel is hip and youthful, located downtown at Yonge-Dundas Square, near the subway and all major sites. A soft renovation brought mid-century decor to the guest rooms and lobby, with turquoise and wood accents. The property feels like a fun dorm for budding tech entrepreneurs.
Tip The pet fee is only $50 per stay, with a refundable $150 deposit. That's not bad.

Room
You Should Know Soundproofing between quest rooms is poor, so bring your ear plugs, or you'll hear what your neighbour is watching on TV, and more. The Wi-Fi is super fast, but not free, at $10 per day.
Bathroom
Not overly spacious but well kitted out, the bathrooms have raised square sinks, marble and turquoise accents. They're gleaming white and clean. While most rooms have a shower/tub combination, some have a separate soaking tub. The toiletries by Trueterra are a nice touch.

Lobby
Low key and casual, the lobby is part Ikea, part California. That explains the hanging incandescent light bulbs and mid-century chairs. White orchids and ivory couches lend an air of lightness. There are three elevators just steps from the main entrance, making it possible to avoid everyone on your way up to your room. The "business centre" is tucked in a back corner, as is a convenient ATM.
Gym
There is a mini gym on site, with a few cardio machines facing a pleasing mural of water droplets.
Dining
The PomAnar Grill and Juicery connected to the lobby serves Persian and Middle Eastern cuisine, made fresh, including staples like Tah-Chin, Soya Moussaka, and Sabzi Polo. Guests can get breakfast there, starting at 7 a.m. The bright red decor is quite sobering at 7 a.m.
Drinking
BYOB--bring your own booze! The hotel doesn't have a licence to serve alcohol. However, the mini fridge is empty, ready to chill your beverages.

Getting Around
If you bring the car, there is a gas station just one block away, as well as on-site indoor parking at the hotel for just $25 per night. That's a good rate, however, try to leave the car at home. You are just steps from the Dundas Street subway stop, streetcars, taxis and Ubers. Wear walking shoes and hoof it. There
Restaurants
The Senator (2-minute walk) is a 1940s-style diner and wine bar with jazz in its DNA and bistro classics on the menu. The salmon platter is a hit, as are the crab cakes and the meatloaf. Also a short walk away, Ethiopiques Restaurant (2-minute walk) draws locals with their sharing platters and traditional Doro Wat chicken dishes.
Bars
Right across the street, The Imperial Pub (1-minute walk) has a wide selection of Canadian and Ontario draught, plus a small wine menu. Suite 114 (7-minute walk) is more of a quiet speakeasy, with excellent custom cocktails like the Castro & Cavalli, or a Thornberry Smash.
