1. Grenfell Handicrafts

Training villagers to become self-sufficient in a harsh environment was one of the British missionary Wilfred Grenfell's aims, and a windproof cloth that they turned into well-made parkas came to be known as Grenfell cloth. Here you can purchase it in the form of the famous parkas with fur-trimmed hoods as well as mittens and tablecloths embroidered with motifs such as polar bears and dog teams. The shop also stocks other handicrafts, most of them locally made.
