Woodstock

New Brunswick’s first incorporated town (in 1856), Woodstock still preserves many fine old buildings on its leafy streets. A focal point of the town is the meeting of its two rivers, the St. John and the Meduxnekeag, with riverside walks, a nature reserve, a floating dock in summer, and a small marina. The big (for Woodstock) celebrations are Old Home Week and the Dooryard Arts Festival, both in August. Other than that, it’s a laid-back town with understated charm.
