Edmundston

Edmundston, the unofficial capital of Madawaska County, has always depended on the wealth of the deep forest around it—the legend of Paul Bunyan was born in these woods. Even today the town looks to the pulp mills of the Twin Rivers Paper Company as the major source of employment. Each summer, the town celebrates with the lively event Foire Brayonne, the largest Francophone festival in Canada outside Quebec.
