Fodor's Expert Review Khot-la-Cha Art Gallery & Gift Shop

North Vancouver Crafts

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

On the Capilano First Nations Reserve in North Vancouver, this longhouse-style gallery showcases items crafted by members of the Squamish Nation, as well as work by other Aboriginal artists in British Columbia and western Canada. You'll find ceremonial masks, hand-knit sweaters, and jewelry made of silver, gold, porcupine quill, or bone. The store is owned by Nancy Nightingale, the daughter of Chief Simon Baker, whose traditional name, Khot-la-Cha, means "kind heart" in the Squamish language.
