Planning Your Time

Banff National Park in One Day

Start with a visit to the Banff Visitor Centre to pick up maps and information about the major sites. Buy lunch provisions and drive to beautiful Lake Louise. Walk the flat shoreline trail and venture upward along the Lake Agnes Trail to the teahouse (or turn back once you get a lofty view of Lake Louise). On the drive back to Banff Townsite, stop at Johnston Canyon and allow an hour for the easy round-trip hike to the dramatic waterfall. Have dinner at Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Afterward, explore the hotel's interior, then end the day with an evening dip in the Banff Upper Hot Springs.
