Fodor's Expert Review Le Beaujolais
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Soft music, white tablecloths, and fresh flowers create an appropriately relaxed atmosphere in this classic French restaurant's upper-floor dining room. This is the place to sample France's greatest hits, including whole Dover sole meunière served tableside, steak au poivre, and roasted duck breast with seared foie gras. Three-course prix-fixe dinner menus start at C$50—the six-course surprise tasting menu (C$99) is a good choice. The wine list is the size of a phone book of yore, but the servers are adept at recommending wine pairings. For a less costly and slightly more casual dining experience, try dining in the on-site Bistro Café de Paris, whose food comes from the same great kitchen as Le Beaujolais.
